CatholiConExpo 2012

Alright – we’re about 200 days away from the conference and now we get started working with the pre-event team. There are seven of us who each have different responsibilities from designing print and online solutions (Fr. Chris) to booking expo clients (Josh) to planning the liturgies, marketing the event, coordinating volunteers, inviting speakers and a host of other things.

This team consists entirely of people who are doing other jobs! That’s one of the cool things about CatholiCon, none of us are full-time media evangelists, we’re all doing other work and finding the time to do this work as an apostolate… The organizers of CatholiCon firmly believe that every single person can find time to work for the New Evangelization. You don’t need to be a professional! There’s a place for everyone on the Digital Continent and we want to help you find your place.

We hope to see you at CatholiCon this year.

Here I was thinking out loud on the way to Mass:

CatholiCon begins from two separate directions. First, Joshua, who is our business magnate, and Fr. Chris Decker, who visualizes space and time, have a sit down with the big men who run the venue where we have the event. They exchange big words and big ideas that Fr. Ryan doesn’t understand and from this big talk emerges a date.
